夭逝のデュ・プレは、激情系のチェリストとして認知されているが、小品を弾かせても、抜群の味付けが出来たということがわかる。
大曲になると、作曲家に襲い掛からんばかりの気迫で曲を征服してしまう彼女だが、本当の彼女のチェロは、ここに収められた小品のように、弾く事を心から楽しむ、自然な演奏にあったのではないだろうか。

とても力強い演奏でした。エルガーはヨーヨーマの演奏と比べたけど、全然力強さが違います。音はヨーヨーマのほうが透明で、きれいだけど、演奏の迫力はこちらに軍配があがると感じました。自分の生まれる前にレコーディングされた音楽を聞いて感動できるなんて、やっぱり音楽はすばらしいですね。

う~ん。伝説のチェリスト”ジャクリーヌ　デュ　プレ”と言う題名からすると少し残念な気がします。もちろんサー　ジョン　バルビローリ
が指揮をした有名なエルガーのチェロ協奏曲、それと彼女が演奏したチェロの小品のカップリングは、魅力的なものです。
でもブックレットの中にある彼女の写真には、バレンボイムとのデュオ

の演奏中の写真が掲載されているのに演奏は、収録されていないのは、
残念です。なので・・マイナス１点
