5.0 out of 5 stars 技巧に裏打ちされた、詩情あふれるラフマニノフ, 2004/4/18
　ガヴリーロフの売りは、なんと言ってもその技巧とパワー。ここに収められたラフマニノフの協奏曲と狂詩曲では、それが存分に発揮されている。実際、ラフマニノフの曲というとロマンティックな旋律に惹かれてどうしても感情的な演奏になってしまい、それをあえて避けようとするととんでもないことになるのだが、この演奏ではそのような心配はまったくない。ガヴリーロフは持ち前の技巧をベースに、全編を通して詩情豊かな演奏を聞かせてくれる。

　特に一番最初の、鐘の響きのようなピアノの和音がだんだん大きくなっていく部分。ガヴリーロフは最初のピアニシモと最後のフォルテのコントラストを非常にはっきりと出しているのだが、この差を出すのが意外に難しいようで、他にこれほど差をつけている演奏はほとんど聞いたことがない。その後も、少し速めのテンポを保ったまま、オーケストラに支えられながら技巧にも感情にも偏らない均整の取れた演奏を最後まで貫いている。ちなみに、ソロの部分ではかなりルバートが効いているが、決してしつこいということはない。

　狂詩曲の方もこれと同じ。各変奏曲ごとに表情がくるくると変わるのは自慢の奔放さのせいだろうか、実に面白い。また、特に早いパッセージの部分だが、フォルテで煌びやかな音が保てるというのも魅力的である。

かなり個性的なテンポ感で、緩急のつけ方にクセがあります。
リヒテル、アシュケナージ等の緊張感ある演奏を好む人には
ちょっと違和感があるかもしれません。

ガブリーロフはダンパーペダルさばきが軽快でタッチもシュア、
装飾音符に至るまでピアノの音の粒を一つ一つクリアに聞かせます。

演奏そのものは温かみに溢れています。
その分疾走感が無くなっているように聞こえてしまうかも。
特に第二楽章は個人的に、少し遅すぎるかな、と。

完全に好みの問題ですが、私個人としは何枚も聞いた果てに持つ
盤であり、ファーストディスクで買うのはおすすめしないかな。

このアルバムに収められている
「パガニーニ主題による狂詩曲」は
ガヴリーロフの奇抜なピアニズムと
ムーティの爽快な指揮が絶妙にマッチし
このうえなくこの曲の魅力を引きだしています。

数多いパガニーニ主題の録音の中でも
一番聴いていて気持ち良いものでした。
