ひとことで言うと、センチメンタルなアルバム。
メジャーのフィールドにありながら、エレカシらしさも忘れずに、良いアルバムです。
しかし・・・、「昔の侍」には参りました。エレカシ史上五本の指に入る名曲でしょう。
アルバム全体にバンドとしての勢いが感じられます。
反面、聴きやすいけれどびっくりするような宮本特有の才能が、ちょっと影を潜めてしまってるような印象。
それでいて「月夜の散歩」と「今宵の月のように」というドラマでの二曲は、時代を越えるような名曲です。「風に吹かれて」も、いい曲ですね。

「くだらねえとつぶやいて、冷めたツラして歩く」

こんなやさぐれた一曲がヒットしたなんて、痛快でたまらんです。

他人からの何気ない優しさへの思い、自分の迷いなどが詩にストレートな表れ、それにちょっと切ない、それでいて熱いメロディーがよくマッチしている。
新しさは無いけど、それゆえに心にガツンと来るアルバムです。

前作「ココロに花を」からややメジャーを意識した曲調になったけど、この時代のエレカシが一番好きな僕にとっては素直に良メロ連発の傑作アルバムだと思います。
みなさん言ってますが、個々の楽曲のクオリティは文句なし。
「風に吹かれて」「今宵の月のように」はもちろん名曲中の名曲ですし、「昔の侍」「赤い薔薇」はエレカシの中でも屈指の名曲だと思います。
聴きやすい曲が多く、初めてエレカシを聴く方には是非おススメです。
