はじめ、聴いた時、軽い拒否感を覚えた。
その後、直ぐに、慣れ、どっぷりと、浸かってた。
歌詞を聞き取るのがほぼ不可能なのですが、
それも演奏に解けているので、よろしいかと思われます。
日は暮れサルは去る。。。

世界を見渡しても唯一無比。
おそらく、ロックが誕生して死に絶えかけた現在に至るまで
表れた数多のロックバンドのどれにも似ていないだろう。
変拍子を多用した、複雑怪奇な曲構成。
確かな演奏力に裏打ちされた奇形のギター、ベースサウンド。
そして、独特な世界観を、これまた独特の声で歌い上げるヴォーカル。

あまりに個性的すぎる楽曲郡は他人の理解、共感を頑なにまで拒否する。
孤高の詩人が綴る哲学的な歌詞はときに鋭く、ときにユーモラス。
日本の、いや世界中のロックのひとつの到達点。
理解できない、気持ち悪いと言われても仕方ないほどの表現の極北。
でも、1度試してみる価値はありますよ。

最右翼。

サブカルを自認するようなちょっとひねくれたロックリスナーにはマストです。あぶらだこを形容するときに「変拍子」という言葉がよく出てきます。うまく言えませんが、「拍子（曲調）自体が奇妙奇天烈であることに加え、１曲の中で何度も、まるで曲が変わったかのように拍子（曲調）が変わる」って感じです。しかも２~３分程度の短い時間の中で、グチャグチャグチャグチャやられるものですから、せわしさ、やかましさは尋常ではありません。この２ｎｄが最もその色が強いと思います。特にインストの「北極」と「南極｣、すごすぎです。ドライブのＢＧＭなんかで気軽に聴けるもんじゃなく、爆音ヘッドホンで意識集中して聴かんとイカンって感じ。それぐらい身構えないと対峙できたもんじゃありません。初めて聴いたときは、人知れない秘境的村落のきつね踊りを見てしまったって感じ。ヒロトモさん自身の「ライヴ前はかなり練習する。そうしないと演奏できないから。」とのコメントにも納得。何にしても１９８６年でこの音。それだけで衝撃です。
