伝説の刑事ドラマ・大捜査線の主題歌。その筋ではあまりにも有名。すきま風、江戸の黒豹などにつぐ杉良太郎のTV主題歌代表曲。ただ、当時のオリジナルではなく、新録音によるアレンジバージョンなので残念。

ダウンタウンや大槻ケンヂ氏、奥田民生氏も大好きなカルト的な名曲のリ・レコーディングをアルバム「俺の歌」からカット。原曲が持つ突き抜けた無骨さとずれた哀愁感はたしかに捨てがたいモノがありますがこの録音もある意味で凄いです。原曲では繊細な印象があったラップがこの再録では腰の据わった重厚なものに仕上がっています。大人の色気とキレた中年の狂気が同居した名MIXといえるでしょう。
