もう20年以上前に、ミュージックテープで繰り返し聴いた懐かしい作品（ライヴ）である。CDで聴き直して、やっぱりよかった。かなりの曲は、スタジオ録音のアルバムよりも出来がいい。曲の中で一番好きなのは「つゆのあとさき」だけれど、ここでの１番は「秋桜」。明るく哀しい「第三病棟」もいい（これはスタジオ録音よりも絶対にいい！）。さだまさしの詩は確かに甘いし、人生そんなきれい事では済まないぜ、とは思うけれど、わたせせいぞうのまんがみたいな、まあそんな世界に身を委ねるときがあったっていいじゃない、とも思う。今でいう「癒し系」なんだろうけれど、そんなチンケな言葉で語りたくない大切な作品である。80年前後のさだまさしは、本当にすごい歌手だった。

絶頂期ということをよく考えます。

細野不二彦氏の「ギャラリーフェイク」4巻に、シュールレアリスムの天才画家キリコに関する漫画があります。要約すると、キリコの代表作は20代に描かれたものがほとんどであり、30才から突然古典主義に目覚めた後は以前ほど評価されなくなった。いわば20代が生涯の絶頂であった。しかし90才になるまで、自らの絶頂をさらに越えようと挑戦し続けた、それこそが芸術家としての業を全うしたことに他ならないと。
この「随想録」は間違いなく、さだまさし氏の絶頂期を象徴するアルバムだと思います。収録されているMCの通り、さだ氏が26才くらいのアルバムです。すべてが文句なしの名曲であり、特にアンコール曲「つゆのあとさき」は鳥肌が立つほどです。

その後のさだ氏は、あまり大きな話題を提供する歌手ではないですが、むしろこのアルバム後の25年間、それこそ驚異的なバイタリティで挑み続けておられると感じます。誰にでもまねのことではないし、この人には「昔は良かった」という言葉などまったく関係ないことでしょう。

だから私は、このアルバムを聞くと曲の素晴らしさもさることながら、「昨日を超える今日にしよう」という声なきメッセージが聞けるような気がしています。

とても楽しく暖かい雰囲気のライブ。子供の頃、兄の部屋から聞こえてきたこのライブアルバムがきっかけで25年来のさだまさしファンになってしまった。誰もが聞いたことのある名曲や、誰もが懐かしいような切ないような、ほんわかした気分なれる曲ばかり。曲間のトークも何度聞いても楽しめる。聞くたびに、「もっと人生を大切に生きよう」って思ってしまいます。さだまさし黄金期の、愛がいっぱい詰まったアルバム。
