なぜ、彼の躍動的な時期に発表されたシングルの名曲「1.2.3」from『EDGE OF TIME』(1988)、「セブンティ カラーズ ガール」from『HEART&SOUL』(1989)が含まれていないのか？。不思議というか、がっかり…。やはり、ただのA面シングルコレクションでベスト盤に相当せず、J.I初心者向けの入門編。オリジナルアルバムを聴かずして、ベスト盤を聴くのは邪道に値するという通説も、最もな話であるなとつくづく思いました。スーパーベストなどと侮った表記をせず、「J.IシングルA面コレクション」というタイトルを付けられないレコード会社のセコさが情けない…。「1.2.3」「セブンティ カラーズ ガール」は必要不可欠で、名曲に値する！。

~やはり、ただのコレクション！。『J.I COLLECTION』というタイトルがふさわしい。これを、スーパーベストコレクションなどと、侮った表記をしたレコード会社のセコさが情けない…。やはり、オリジナルアルバムを聴かずして、ベスト盤を聴くのは邪道という通説も、最もな話である。AORの大御所J.グレイドンとD.フォスターによる名曲をA.ジャロウが歌った「AFTER~~ ALL」が『ベスト オブ アル ジャロウ』に収録されていなかったことに「＜アフター オール＞が入っていない？　嘘だろ？」とJ.グレイドンが驚いていた…というライナーノーツに掲載された内容を彷彿させられる。特に必要不可欠である「1.2.3」「セブンティ カラーズ~~ ガール」」がなぜ入ってないのか？。これらの曲はJ.Iのシングルベスト盤となれば、他の曲と差し替えてでも入れるべきであったはずである！。~
