スウェアリンジェンの作品はどれも曲調の似た曲が多いが、小中学校の初・中級バンドにはぴったり。
コビントン広場はお勧めです。
指揮者は「マジェスティア」のみＦ.フェネルで、それ以外は汐澤安彦によるもの。
演奏は無難。

コンクールや演奏会で、今でもよく耳にする「スウェアリンジェン」の曲。
どれも親しみやすくて華があり、独特のシンコペーションを多用した歯切れの良さが特徴です。
初級バンドや少人数のバンドにも違和感なく吹けると思います。
そういう意味では、演奏会用の「お手本」として最適かも。
佼成＆フェネルの演奏ということで、観賞用としてはほんの少し物足りないところは
あるけれど、クオリティをしてはまずまず。安心して聴けます。
個人的には、最後の「シーゲート序曲」が好きです。

スクール・バンドの世界では言わずと知れた
スウェアリンジェン作品をひとつのCDにまとめたもの。
初期の頃の作品「チェスフォード・ポートレイト」から、
中期の「シーゲイト序曲」までを
収録してある。
フェネル＆TKWOの演奏なので、いつもながらに
ハイ・クオリティーな演奏を聴ける。
個人的な見解だが、10曲の中では
「センチュリア」がお勧め。
