　堂本光一 主演「銀狼怪奇ファイル」主題歌。

　銀狼怪奇ファイル――優しくて頼りない「シスコン」耕助と、天才的頭脳で冷徹な銀狼。生物学者だった父親の人体実験の結果生まれた、「二つの頭脳を持つ少年」が活躍する物語だ。
　SF＋サスペンス＋学園ものといった内容のこの番組。トリックが科学的・理論的でなかなか面白く、そしてどこか正義感が漂っていたのが印象的だった。今でもDVD化を望む声がやまない、人気の高いドラマである。

　その主題歌がこの「ミッドナイト・シャッフル」。歌うは元アイドルにして現レーサーの近藤真彦。歌手活動は実に久しぶりだが、ミステリアスな雰囲気のこの曲がなかなかの名曲だったため、十数年ぶりにチャートトップ10に返り咲いた。
　ジョー・リノイエの手によるキャッチーなポップ・ロックで、ちょっと不思議な雰囲気のコーラスが印象的。きちんと日本語だけで歌われているのも特徴で、クールな仕上がりである。「アイドル」「ジャニーズ」を超えてヒットしただけのことはある。見事！

この曲は、「銀狼怪奇ファイル~二つの頭脳を持つ少年」という堂本光一が出てくるドラマの主題歌でした。
この曲は、本当に最高です。
