「風に吹かれて」から「ライク・ア・ローリング・ストーン」まで、ボブ・ディランの原点であり、フォークからフォーク・ロックに進む頃のベスト・アルバム。
ボブ・ディランの初期の名曲がズラリと並んでいる。これこそが、ディランと思う曲ばかりだが、今から見れば、ここから出発してディランは様々な冒険を試みた。

世界中に影響を与えた最初の衝撃波ともいえるだろうか。そんなに大袈裟に考えなくても、この時期のディランの曲は魅力的。
これからディランを聞こうとお考えの人には、絶好の作品です。

２００１年の日本公演では「2.風に吹かれて」「5.ライク・ア・ローリング・ストーン」はもちろんのこと、めずらしく「1.雨の日の女」「6.ミスター・タンブリン・マン」「10.女の如く」まで披露してくれました。やっぱ、いいですなー、この頃の曲は。
