孤高のELO流POP Musicが到達した最高到達点がこの作品ではないかと思います。完成度の高いPOP Musicが、アナログ2枚組の全編を埋め尽くしています。ELOサウンドの要であるストリングス・アレンジも全開絶好調です。ELOを代表するアルバムについて、ファンの間でも様々な意見がありますが、私はこのアルバムが最もふさわしいのではないかと思います。70年代後期のPOP Musicを知るには、絶対欠かせない傑作だと思います。

5.0 out of 5 stars サウンド的に頂点に来た「７作目」！, 2003/8/13
　レコードでは２枚組、長岡秀星のジャケットも美しい1977年発表の作品。サウンド的には頂点に上り詰め、（その後さらにPOPさで、またシンセサウンドでさらに違った頂点も極めるが・・・）彼等の最高傑作といってもよいだろう。アルバム全体的にもELOらしさが十二分に発揮され、名盤と呼ぶにふさわしい内容となっている。

　このアルバムでは相変わらずストリングスサウンドが充分聴けるが、前作「オーロラの救世主」よりサウンドが数段明るくなり、成長ぶりを窺わせます。（以降更に明るいサウンドになっていきます。）
　ELOに興味をもった方、このアルバムをとにかく聴いてみてください！（聴きどころ満載です！）

It's overの3:44あたりで音飛びが発生しています。
※リマスター版では修正されているみたいです。
元のＬＰ２枚分がＣＤ１枚に収まっているので、可搬性は良いかと思われます。
