タイトル通り、木管五重奏曲の中でも20世紀という「現代」曲を集めたCD。
古典的な室内楽を当てにすると少し面喰らうような曲が集まっている。
しかし、名手たちのふっくら典雅な音でのいきいきした演奏で、そんな心配は吹き飛ぶはずだ。

フランセやリゲティの変則的だったり不協和音が入る現代的な曲もユーモアに昇華されて

楽しめる。一番レビュアが楽しかったのは、3曲目。邦題が「作品番号『獣』」と原題に引っ掛けて
あるところも楽しめれば、演奏者の生の声の「セリフ」が聞ける。どの声が誰の声なのかは
解説にも無いが、演奏から探ってみるのも一興。

古典的室内楽ファンの方、聞き辛い心配無用です。是非名手たちのウィットを。
