ガーシュイン　というと　どうしても　ジャズの　作曲家　の　イメージ　だが　やっぱり　この人は　生半可に　音楽を　勉強　していなかったのが　よくわかる　！　
ラプソディー・イン・ブルーの　なんと　素晴らしいこと　！！！！　
　完全なる　クラシックだ。
　パリの　アメリカ人は　いかにも　パリで　もたもた　してる　アメリカ人の　情景が　目の　前に　現れてきそうだ！
また　グランド　キャニオン　では　アメリカの　壮大さが　実に　よく　あらわされている。
改めて　ガーシュイン　が　天才　だったと　感じさせてくれる　一枚だ。
この　三曲が　入って　この　お値段　！
フィラデルフィア管弦楽団　の　演奏も　なかなかの　ものである。
ジャズの　山下　洋輔の　ラプソディー　・イン・ブルー　と　聞き比べてみるのも　一興　かと　思うが　いかがなものか・・・・？

どこかで耳にしたことがある曲です。私はの場合は、仕事の関係でアメリカに行くときにはユナイテッド航空を使うことが多かったので、コマーシャルソングとしても馴染みがあります。ポピュラー音楽のようだけど、ストーリーがあり、風景があるなど、形容矛盾ない言い方ですが、モダンなクラシック音楽です。
