マキシシングル「月を超えろ」から約一年後にリリース。
2000年だったせいもあって豪華な内容。
先行シングル「マシマロ」はCMで流れた事もあってヒット。その流れのままこのアルバムもヒットした。
本作はそれまでの活動を総括するような内容。
「あくまでドライブ」の続編のような1曲目、「野ばら」のような軽快な「羊の歩み」、29に入ってもおかしくない「イオン」や「ふれあい」、さらにユニコーンを自らシミュレートしたような「ときめきファンタジー3」など、聴きどころは多い。
しかし、いくつかの曲で見られる新しい奥田の作風が今作以後、曲の質を低下させた原因にも見える。
しかし、何はともあれ本作は聴きやすく、様々な人に勧められる。

インタビューによると、民生はこの作品でジャズを意識したそうです。
なるほど。言われてみればそんな気も。。言うなれば「ジャズ・ロック」
とでも呼びたくなるような、全体的にレイドバックした濃密な雰囲気が
漂っとります。
とにもかくにも、民生独特のダラダラしたヘビーなビートがひたすら
気持ちよく、このグルーヴにずっと身を任せていたい。そんな感じです。
民生のＣＤの中で一番よく聴くアルバム。傑作中の傑作。

なんだぁ！このジャケ（笑）
笑顔が素敵な民生さん・・・歌詞カードも中身を開いてみると後半はまるでアイドルタレントのような写真集仕立てになってました。
何を考えてるんだろう？？？
でも、このわけのわからなさが好きでっす！

全体的なまとまりがよく、珍しくやる気が感じられます。

（だけど、民生さんにとってこの「やる気が感じられる」って褒め言葉なんでしょうか？「やる気が感じられない」こそ褒め言葉なような気もしますが）

シングル発売されておなじみの「マシマロ」はかっこいい疾走感のある曲。
最後に歌い放たれる壮絶なオチがたまりません。
これぞ民生~！な曲。

私がいちばん好きなのは「羊の歩み」。

結構癒し系のゆったりしたメロディーにのせて語られるのは、誰もがぶち当たる壁。どうしようもない焦燥感が伝わるココロに痛い曲。

言うまでもなく、絶妙なタイトルのつけ方は天才的ですね。

ノリの良い曲もあるかと思えば、ゆったりめの曲まで・・
