これ、浜田省吾のベスト？と、友達の車の中でこのカセットを聞いたとき（当時はLPやEPやカセットしかありません！）に尋ねました。もちろん違うんですがね！私はそのときから浜省ファンになりましたよ。すぐにレコード屋に行ってJ.BOYを￥4500（ぐらい）出して買いました。そのときは珍しい2LPで私はそれを擦り切れるほど聞いてました。（もちろん今でもCDで聞いてますよ）それからというもの浜田省吾のレコードは全部買いました。その全部に私は驚き感動してました。浜田省吾の力に圧倒され、私の世界観まで変えたかもしれません。
そんな浜田省吾J.BOYは20年前の若き浜田省吾さんからの現代人へのメッセージが刻まれていると思います。だからこそ今を生きる人に聞いてもらいたいです！
仕事に疲れた私と同世代の人もこれからのJapanを担う若い人たちへ！
We're　J.BOY！何か感じることができますよ、きっと。

　ジャパニーズ・ロックの良心、浜田省吾が世に問うた傑作です。特に２枚目の３曲目以降からの疾走感はこの人ならではのもの。１６年前のこの国の有様と、そしてすでに未来（つまり現在）への憂いと警告が見事なまでに「音楽」になっています。

　僕は同じ時代に彼のようなソングライターがいてくれたことに感謝したい。これはひとりの「Ｊ・ＢＯＹ」のつぶやきです・・・ありがとう。

ベスト盤じゃないのに、なんと充実した内容だろうか。
2枚組みをあきさせることなく、ひとつひとつに味わいがある。
当時、確実にある範囲の人たちが自分の思いを
このアルバムに託すことが出来た。
浜田省吾はその意味で（いい意味で）演歌なのだと思う。
今の若者にも聞いてもらいたい。
