15年位前に初めて“セクシィ”を聴いて、弾語り（フォークというより、こちらの方がボクにはシックリきます）っていうのは、いいもんだなぁ…と感銘を受けて以来、時々手にとっては聴いています。
オリジナルアルバムも良いけれど、ＣＤでのまさかのベスト盤だけにとても嬉しく、重宝しています。

１９７０年代にソニーに残した音源からのベスト集、８０年代以降メジャー・レーベルから距離を置いた活動を現在まで続けている、１９６０年代末の日本のフォーク・ソング界の立ち上げ時期から活動を続け発表した作品数も相当なものなのだが、７０年代以降に活動を始めた後進たちのようには大ヒットに恵まれることはなかった、ボーカリスト兼アコースティック・ギタリストとしては国内最高の一人であろうことから、例えば日本版ボズ・スキャッグスのようなＡＯＲ的な売れ方の可能性もあったろうと考えるが残念ながらなにか志向が違っていたようでもある、本作のようにベスト盤として聞けばより分かりやすいがいわゆるフォーク歌手というよりも自作自演の「ボーカリスト」であり、徳永英明の同類と考えたほうがよいとおもう、

Ｔ１は石川セリがヒットさせた下田作品の最大のヒット作、Ｔ８もポップな作品でヒットしそうだったのだが歌詞の一部が問題視され放送禁止になったいわくつきの名曲（発表当時のラジオでは問題の歌詞が始まる前までがよく放送されたりした）、個人的にはＴ１７をオープニング曲としたアルバム「ナイト・パートナー」こそこの時期までの下田逸郎最高作としてはやくＣＤで聞きたい、日本のボーカルＡＯＲアルバムの隠れた傑作と思います、

のちに発表される「モンスター」と同類の「月夜の砂漠」に顕著な不思議なメルヘンのようで実は残酷な所在無さのような疎外感や孤独感を感じさせる彼の歌を評者は心の底から愛しています、

なお、星五つは初ＣＤ化に敬意を表してです、

正直言いまして下田逸郎の曲をよく知っている訳ではありません。
知らない曲の方が圧倒的に多いです。
ただ以前よりずっと気になっていた「踊り子」を聴きたくて
このアルバムを購入しました。

本当に久々に触れた下田逸郎のボーカルとギターですが
「踊り子」と「セクシィ」は文句なく良かったです。
そしてそれ以外の曲も彼の世界が一貫していて
通して聴くと実に落ち着きます。

「酒とりっぷ」LIVEバージョンとは言え、実にフォークっぽい（笑）
歌も歌うのだなぁと微笑んでしまいました。
