マネージメント・オフィスもレコード会社も一新し、彼にとっては再スタートの作品となる新作。いろんなものを吹っ切ったからか、凶作に児られた重みが少しとれ、あれこれ考えさせられる深みはそのままに、作品のシチュエーションがはじけて軽いものも少なくなく、笑わせ、ほのぼのとさせ、聴く者のハートをくすぐってくれる。たとえば恋する人への求愛を“僕のファナクラブに入りませんか。特典で僕がついてきます”と歌う発想や、毛深かったり太ってたりしたんじゃ彼女もできないと、エステ通いを決意する男の子をコミカルに歌う楽しさ。それは、彼の独壇場だろう、また、彼がいながら別の男の子を誘惑する悪女的(!)な女の子も出てきて、彼の歌う世界はなかなかに多彩。そしてラストに構えるタイトル曲は愛の大切さを歌い、アルバム全体を包み込む。メロディも打ち込みによるサウンドも嫌みがなく、彼ならではのマイルド&メロウな香りをさりげなく放出している。 (角野恵津子) --- 1997年12月号
