学生の頃、隣の部屋の先輩が太田裕美のカセットテープを持っていました。それまで「木綿のハンカチーフ」とか、超ヒットの曲しか知らず、よい曲だと思いつつもあまり興味を惹かれなかったのですが、そのカセットに入っていた「遠い日の夏休み」などなどに、自分のシーンと重ね合わせてとても懐かしさを感じていました。そのテープ（元はLPだと思いますが）のアルバムタイトルも知らないままですが、このCDにはあの時気に入った曲がすべて収録されています。個人的レビューで申し訳ありませんが、とにかく懐かしく、思わず買ってしまいました。

いやあ、感動しました。選曲に一部自分が入れて欲しいものが抜けたりしてますが、しょうがない。初めて聴いた「しあわせ未満」のＢ面、「初恋ノスタルジー」が素晴らしい曲。やはり筒見、松本、太田及びアレンジの荻田さんを加えた４人は、日本のポップスの四天王です。あと、「ピッツアハウス２２時」も、あらためて良い曲だと思いました。ＤＩＳＫ２では、ラストのゴンチチ作、「ファーストレディーになろう」が可愛くて好き。いずれにせよ、懐かしい名曲の数々で、大々的にお薦めします。今度は是非コンサートにいかなければ。それにしても、確か僕より５歳くらい上の裕美さん、いつまでも若々しく可愛くて、すてきだなあ。

97年に発売した、一部アルバム曲を含むベスト。
基本的には、シングルを含んだベストという形だが、
2枚組のCDの中に、既発のシングルベストとは違う、
B面や一部アルバム曲も収録されている。
太田裕美は、初期の頃は、もろ歌謡曲スタンスで、
作家の作られていた歌を歌う形が多かったが、
中期以降は、いろいろなアーチストのカバーや、
自作の曲なども、どんどん意欲的に発表し、
新たな土台を作っていった。
このCDは、そのあたりを突いているベスト。
個人的には「葉桜のハイウェイ」が、
音の時代的な部分も含めて好きである。
