あの頃、TVで歌う彼女の姿をよく見かけた。声のパンチと音程の確かさは印象に残ったが、早口でせわしなく歌う印象で、タイアップなどの先入観もあって当時は曲をしっかり聴くことはなかった。
彼女の姿を見ることがなくなってから、ふとしたきっかけでアルバムを聴いた。そしてノックアウトされた。

このアルバムのプロデュースは、彼女のシュールな資質にポップな外枠を与えるという困難な課題を巧みにこなしている。一見親しみやすい楽曲からも零れ落ちる才能の煌きは隠しようもなく、誰にも真似の出来ないワン＆オンリーの世界が展開されている。
詞も楽曲もポップながらある種の緊張を孕み、若さ特有の危うさやはかなさがうまく掬い上げられている。この危うさの印象は、今となってみればむしろ彼女の本質的な在り方の反映と思える。どのような事情があったのかはわからないが、マーケットでの成功からは遠ざかり、メジャーシーンから消えたのは彼女自身の必然なのかもしれない。
現在、彼女はしがらみから離れて比較的自由な立場にあるのではないだろうか。どのような形でもいい、また声を聞かせて欲しい。

一枚通して彼女のいろんな面が見れます。彼女を見てると、いつも回りの世界に対して大きな声で自分をぶつけられずにいた子が、思いっきり卵の殻をぶち破ろうとしてる時の一生懸命さを感じる。あまりにも純粋すぎて、素直すぎて、気づいたらそのままパッといなくなってしまいそうな危うさも感じさせる。

彼女にはアルバムに収められていないカップリングの中にもすばらしい曲がたくさんある。「愛の才能」の「早退」、「１/２」の「１」、「桜」の「ドーナッツのリング」など。アルバムしか持ってなくて、彼女の曲を気に入った人は聴いてみる価値があると思います。

少女がすっ裸でじだんだ踏んでる感じ。
jpopに新しい風を吹き込んだと勝手に思ってます。
やっぱ１／２。すごいエネルギーだっ。
