シングル曲「大迷惑」を収録した８９年発売の３ＲＤアルバム。
この作品でユニコーンは真の大ブレイクをした。
前作で見せていた音楽面の変化の兆しは、この作品で完全なものとなり
世間のファンを大きく驚かせると共に、
新たなオリジナリティーをもった彼らの登場を絶賛した。
タイトル、ジャケット写真からして破天荒である。

これ以降のサウンドはどんどんオリジナリティーを強くしていくが、
その先駆けとなったアルバムである。
サウンド的にも、普通のロックから脱皮しようとしているのがわかる。

多彩な作品集となっている1989年のサードアルバム『服部』。ここでアイドル視されていたユニコーンが一気にブレイクをはじめた。
ジャケットからしてふざけているのだが、アルバムの内容も笑えたりして楽しめる。
この『服部』から加入した阿部が歌う傑作や「人生は上々だ」、パンクとオーケストラを混ぜ合わせて、サラリーマンの悲哀を見事に歌い上げたユニコーンの代表作「大迷惑」といった燦然と輝く作品が並ぶ。
この頃から奥田の才能は以前にも増して輝き始めた。そして、メンバー各々の才能のぶつかり合いが始まったのもこのアルバムからともいえる。

前作までの“どこにでもいるロックバンド”から大きな変貌を遂げたユニコーン。その変貌を世に知らしめたのがこのアルバム、「服部」です。

服部やデーゲーム、大迷惑といった話題作が収録されたこのアルバムは、ユニコーンの代表作であるといっていい仕上がりになっており、ファンでない方にもお勧めの一枚です。バンド変貌の要因のひとつであるといわれているのが阿部氏のメンバー加入、その阿部氏のボーカルによる「人生は上々だ」も歴史的大傑作です。何度聞いても飽きない、ユニコーン作品の中でもまさに名盤中の名盤といえます。
