約２０年ぶりに買って聴いてみました。初版の物より倍くらい収録曲が増えてますね。トータルな感想で言うと相変わらずアルバムとしての統一性は全く欠けているのですが（アルバムの性格上しようがないが）、各曲の出来はすばらしいの一言！今聞いてもレコーディング・アレンジの出来は最高！大滝のセンスの良さが光った逸品揃いです。中には「この曲、名作『A LONG VACATION』に入れても良かったんじゃない？」と思えるものも…。大滝の作品作りの真髄を知る上ではこれ以上ない参考資料となるでしょう。

恐るべし大瀧詠一の才能が一気におしよせる秀作。こんなミュージシャンが日本にいることを誇りに思いたくなる作品集である。全編を通して聞いてみると

ある種コンセプトアルバムとしてとらえてもおかしくないほど（ＣＭ曲だからそう思うのかもしれないが）つながりを感じる。個人的に好きなサウンドはサイダー’７５、ニッスイ、ウォークマン、ジーガム、出前一丁、コメッコ、これらはとにかくカッコイイと思います。日本人ばなれした曲作りです。自分も作曲をやることはあるけど、ＣＭのようなこんな短い時間にキャッチーなメロディーは通常こんなに作れないですよ。こつを教えてほしい。音の芸術・魔術師・恐るべし大瀧詠一。

NIAGARA CM SPECIAL 自体がリリースされたのはずいぶん前ですが、このアルバムの中で、個人的に光っているのは、「日立のおしゃれさん♪」という曲です。とってもなつかしいです。「出前一丁♪」は、なにわのモーツアルト・キダ・タローの作曲ですが、大瀧バージョンの方が、みなさん記憶に残っていらっしゃるんじゃないでしょうか？また、CMとしては不採用になった、当時の「ウォークマン」の為につくられた曲も、CMとしては未発表ながら･･･聴いてみると･･･なんかこの曲のCMもあったような気さえするほど、いいできばえです。また「大関・ワタリマス♪」も、お歳暮の時期･･･お酒を抱えた渡哲也さんのさっそうとしたシーンが思い浮かびます。なつかCMフリークの方に是非･･･
