私は子供の頃、爆風スランプのライヴを観る機会があり（たしかアルバム「よい」がリリースされた頃のツアーだと思います）、そのときに聴いたほーじんの強烈なベースソロのとりことなって以来、爆風スランプは気になるバンドのひとつになりました。しかし、寒いギャグ連発のウケを狙った楽曲自体はなかなか好きになれずにいました。
　しかし数年後テレビの音楽番組でこのアルバムの曲を演奏する彼らを見てびっくり！。即アルバムを購入しました。
　ファンク色を強めた楽曲の出来が非常に良く、ほーじんのベースの良さを最大限に生かしているように思いました。特に１曲目で聴けるベースソロにはしびれました。
　未だにこのアルバムと「ハイランダー」だけは聴いています。パッパラーの作るポップな曲も魅力のひとつなのでしょうが、やはり爆風スランプには、ほーじんがいないとダメですね。

楽曲の完成度として「THE TSURAI」を、
個人的な好みとして「東の島にブタがいたVol.3」を特に推す。

個人的にバクフーは江川ほーじんのベースで99%成り立っていると思ってます。ですからほーじんが脱退してからの曲は一切聞いてません。そのほーじんの恐ろしいまでのチョッパーベースが存分に味わえるこのアルバムこそ最高傑作！このアルバムが無かったら、ただのおちゃらけたバンドで終わっていたでしょう。
