　「酒と泪と男と女」、「時代おくれ」で知られる、シンガーソングライター：河島英五の「新録音ベスト」です。

　「曲は素晴らしいんだけど、古い曲だから、録音状態がなぁー」、というTrackは、意外と多いもの。ほぼ同一アレンジによる新録音は、大変GOODなアイディアだと思います。

　「時代おくれ」の再ヒットで、若い世代のファンも獲得。新しいタイプの曲も増えました。日本酒が似合う男らしい風貌と、イメージ通りの声。

　普通っぽさが残る歌声も、また彼の持ち味ですね。「細かいことは、いいじゃないか」 ―― 天国からそんな声が聞こえてきそうな、人柄が滲み出た曲の数々。聞き取れない外国語など一編もなく、古き良き日本を伝えています。

大ファンなので何枚も英五さんのアルバムを持っていますが、収録曲の選曲といい歌声といい、かなり密度の濃い一枚に仕上がっていると思います。「ベスト」と銘打っている英五さんのアルバムは何枚かありますが、私的にはこの一枚が一番　英五さんを知る・感じるにはベストな一枚だと思います。でも、本当の英五さんの魅力は「なま」（ライブ）だと思うので、ライブバージョンの収録されているものの方が更にベストなんですけどね。いずれにせよ　オススメです。

特別綺麗な声でもなく、楽器も決して上手ではないと思う。だけど何か惹かれるものがあるのは確か。心にしみこんでくる歌詞や歌声は彼にしか表現できないものだと思う。歌の世界が目の前に広がる感覚はとてもすばらしい。選曲もメジャーなものはほとんど入っているし、ぜひ聞いておきたいものも入っている。

ぜひいちど生で聞きたかった。
