2枚に分けてもよかった思えるほど充実したアルバム

「島唄」のヒットを受けて制作された5枚目のオリジナルアルバム。内容は、非常に充実していて、収録時間 66 分を考えると、2枚の別々のアルバムにしてもよかったと思えるほどです。

「8. 目覚めのメロディー」「9. 帽子の行方」のほか、「12. 祝日が一日もない町」からつづく「13. 幸せであるように」「14. 月さえも眠る夜」、ラストの「16. つばき」がTHE BOOMらしいメロディアスな曲。そこに、「1. いいあんべえ」と「15. いいあんべえ(毛遊び)~唐船ドーイ」という沖縄音楽があって，もう十分に満足なのに、「3. 真夏の奇蹟」や「6. 18時」「7. ハニー！　ユア・ターン」のようなノリノリの曲もあったりするのです。

残念なのは、初期の4作品にあったような、世の中を皮肉ったような曲がないことと、アルバムが充実し過ぎていること。実は、さまざまな要素を取り入れた結果、アルバムとしての統一感があまりなく、(非常に申し訳ないのですが)ともすると「寄せ集め」に感じられてしまうのです。このあたりは、いくつかの間奏曲を入れた上で、最初に記したように、2枚のアルバムにしたほうがよかったと思えるところです。

もちろん、これは、アルバムが充実しているからこそ思えてしまう、贅沢な要望です。お勧めできる名盤には違いありません。

「島唄」のメジャーヒットで彼らのことを知りました。オキナワ調の曲あり、ファンクありバラエティに富んだ力作。収録曲は多めですが、アルバム通して聴いてもダレません。彼らの曲をリアルタイムで追って聴くようになるキッカケに。
オススメは「いいあんべえ」「幸せであるように」。

「島唄」で一躍ﾒｼﾞｬｰｱｰﾃｨｽﾄの仲間入りをいたBOOMですが、このｱﾙﾊﾞﾑはｽｷﾙを見せ付けてくれています！お薦めは3.4.14曲目です！3曲目の「真夏の奇跡」は聴いた事のある方も多いと思います。ﾀｲﾄﾙ通り熱い夏を感じさせ、歌詞で「地球より青い愛に･･･」や「海より深い愛に･･･」など、臭い言葉ではありますが、宮沢さんのちょっとねっとり?!した声に私もうっとり?!してしまいました。そして「島唄」のBOOMをｲﾒｰｼﾞして購入した方をがっかりさせないよう、ちゃ~んと沖縄ﾃｲｽﾄの曲も入っていますよ！
