当時は特にLA録音が流行っており、ミュージシャンの特性、それまでの楽曲のイメージなどの要素はあると思いますが、アルバムを通してのコンセプトもしっかりしており、この時期の日本からのLA録音としてはよい仕上がりの方だと思います。自分はこののちの８９年位までの邦楽のLA録音全盛時のCD音源をかなり集めており、確かにそれまでのアルバムの製作趣向からのイメージからはちょっと隔たりはあることは否めませんが、『スカーレットの毛布』のりトナーのカッティング、ランディカバーのKEY、曲全体のアレンジなどは当時の最高のｻｳﾝﾄﾞ、アレンジだと思います。すきな歌手の歌でコレだけの演奏をされるとKOです。個人的には木綿のハンカチーフと青空の翳りが好きですが。

ヨーロッパテイストから、カントリー、ウエストコーストサウンド、ＡＯＲと歌謡曲を融合してきた、松本隆、筒美京平、太田裕美のトリオの集大成というべきアルバム。その後の交際が一部で話題となったリー・リトナーとの出会いをはじめ、バッキングも豪華なロス録音盤。迷いと新境地の狭間を行くグルーブ感は、太田裕美の抜群のリズム感ならでは。

唯一残念なのが、太田裕美の悪声。喉をつぶした後、結局美声が戻らず、また短期間でのＬＡ録音のため、コンディションが最悪でざらついた声になっています。

「スカーレットの毛布」は最高。「振り向けばイェスタディ」も人気高い。「菜莉の結婚」もいいです。個人的には、「Nenne」と「∞(アンリミテッド)」が、「こけてぃっしゅ」的で大好きです。「Nenne」と「暗くなるまで待って」は似てるでしょう。こういうのが太田裕美さんに合うんだなー。
