デビューアルバム「１７歳の地図」の完成度があまりにも高かった結果、尾崎は自分自身に非常に高いハードルを課してしまったわけだが、彼はそこからさらに奇跡的な成長を遂げ、前作を越えるこんなに素晴らしいアルバムを作ってしまった。
歌われる世界も一気に広がって、学生から大人まで楽しめるアルバムになった。人生の岐路で迷ったときにこのアルバムを聴きたくなる人は多いであろう。
しかし、こんなアルバムを10代でつくってしまったことは、世界的にみても、尾崎が早熟の天才であったことを示している。今聴いても、とても未成年の青年が作れる内容じゃないなと感じる。
そのあまりにも鋭敏な感性と、その感性をコントロールできる抑制力がなかったこと、あるいは抑制しようとしなかったことが、結果、尾崎の若すぎる死を招いてしまったわけだが。
「アクセルは常に踏みっぱなし、ブレーキなんてくそくらえ」と突っ走ってしまえる、まさに命がけの気持ちがなければ、こんなに優れた作品はできない。そして、そんな気持ちを持って曲作りに挑むことができたのは、後にも先にも尾崎しかいないだろう。

5.0 out of 5 stars 全ての若き世代に伝えたいアルバム, 2002/6/15
自分にとって彼の音楽を聞き始めるきっかけとなったアルバム。
当時中学生だった自分が、ラジオから偶然このアルバムの曲が流れていたのを
聞いた時、なんて共感できる言葉が多いのだろうと驚いた事を覚えている。
このアルバムは彼の作品の中で最も勢いがあり、もっとも素直な作品であると
思う。全て一発録りと言う事もこの時点では正解だったと思える。

こんな事をいうと他のファンからは誤解されてしまうかもしれないが、
正直、彼が十代の内に残した三枚のアルバム以降は、どれも俺の心を打つもの
ではなかった。かといって、他の作品が駄作というわけではない。
それだけ十代に残した三枚のアルバムがすごすぎたのかもしれない。

このセカンドアルバムは、その三枚の中でも最も素晴らしい作品だと俺は思う。

久しぶりに尾崎の音楽を聞いた。自分のルーツはここにあったんだと納得してしまう。
学生の頃、尾崎のメッセージは（当事の自分には）あまりに多く、内容も深かったため殆ど理解できなかった。
にもかかわらず、心を離さない何かに魅かれて随分と聞いていた。
今度は自分が大人になり、今あらためて尾崎のＣＤを聞くと、

彼が何を伝えたかったのか、何故昔自分が尾崎に魅かれていったのかが分かってくる。
最近嫌な事件や暗い話題しか新聞やニュースで聞かない。
社会全体がいらいらして、自分だけがよければ他人はどうでもよい人が多いような気がする。
また物事の表面だけしか見ないで、本質を見ていない人も多いと思う。

学歴（テストの点）だけ磨いて、他のもっと大事な何かを忘れてきたつけがまわってきてるだけだと思う。
彼が描きたかった将来の日本はこんなものだったのか？
当事彼の曲を聴いて育った（今は大人になってる）人たちには、何もできないのか？
ＴＶのようにスマートでかっこよいだけが人生ではない。

人は、悩み、苦しみ、もがき、その中から何かがみえてくるものである。
特に若い人には、尾崎のメッセージを聞きながら、自分にとって本当に大切なものは何か、
自分をどう変えてゆきたいのかも考えて欲しい。
「シェリー」には、何度も自分は勇気づけられてきた。
長々と書いてしまったが、本当に良い音楽は理屈じゃない！のでとにかく聴いてみて下さい。

それから、自分の人生と色々比べてもいいかな。
