ギターウルフ、ベースウルフ、ドラムウルフだぜ？
サンバルカンも真っ青だぜ。
こんなすげーバンドは他にないよ。

そこの君！
流行りでヒップホップや、ミクスチャロック聴いてないで、
こいつらの熱いサウンド聴いてくれい！

この轟音でたまに、陳腐で貧弱な音楽たちを蹴散らしたくなる。 <br />人間って暴力的衝動が必ず体のどこかにある。映画の「ファイトクラブ」ではその暴力的衝動とその痛みの実感こそ、生きてること、人間性の証のように描かれているが、ギターウルフの轟音というのはそれに近い。己のふつふつと沸いてくるエネルギーがそのまま音になったようなバンド。oasisのギターのデカさにハマったら、次はこの作品もチェックでしょう。

最初、CDを再生した時にはソニック・システムがヒート・アイランド現象によってブチ壊れたのかと思った。ガレージ、ローファイ、カラオケ、パンクをジューサーにかけてギュワーンと攪拌しているような音である。ギターウルフに関して数種の方面から"ピュアなバンド"だという感想を耳に挟んでいたのだが、けっこう巧妙な音を作ってメジャーからデビューするんだなと思った。
何をもってピュアだとするか?確たる判定基準などないのだが、私的な判定基準に基づいたピュアな音があるとしたらライブで出しているような、なるべく自分の"身の延長"の少ない音になるのだろうか?僕はいまだギターウルフのライブを体験したことがないので断定はできないのだけれども、彼らもメジャーから伝播してゆくことに際してどのような音で出ていくのか、ライブでやっている音のままでいくかどうか?考えたフシがあるのでは……という気がする。やっている音楽はリサイクルものでありながら、線状的に逆行し昔のまんまをまとうのではなく螺旋的に遡行したことを示す証左を音作りの中に封じ込めたかったのでは……と推理できるアルバムである。もちろん、昔に戻るための加工ができるか否かで幻想としてのピュアネスのありかを知ることができる。ジョン・スペンサー・ブルース・エクスプロージョンなどがギターウルフに共鳴していたのは、昔に戻るための加工を両者が(意識無意識に関わらず)できているからシンパシーが生まれたのだろう。GET BACK感覚の古くて新しい選択肢を聴いた気がした。
