吉田町の唄は、９１年に私たち新潟県吉田町若者共和国が拓郎さんにお願いして作ってもらった唄です。山も海もない我が町になんとか名物を作ろうとダメもとで依頼しなんとOKがでたのでした。この唄を聴く度に当時、共和国外務大臣をやっていて拓郎さんのレコーディングスタジオまで押し掛け、自分のギブソンJ-45にサインをもらったこと、小室等さんやふきのとうや杉田二郎さん等を呼んでコンサートをやったこととかを思い出します。そう、この唄は実在の田舎町の唄なのです。
