他の歌手に提供した曲をセルフカバーし、他の歌手が歌った曲をカバーしたミックスカバーのアルバム。
あまり他の歌手の曲を歌うことはなかった拓郎さんですが、そういう面では楽しめる一枚ではあります。ジャケットも自ら描いた絵。仕入れた情報では、キャンディーズのランちゃんがモデルとか？
『恋の歌』、『歌ってよ夕陽の歌を』がお気に入りになっています。名曲『あゝ青春』を含め、全体的には静かな感じに思えます。キャンディーズの『やさしい悪魔』もギターをかき鳴らして歌ってます。
『大いなる人』の『アン・ドゥ・トロワ』では「さよならキャンディーズ」と惜しむ声。ピンクレディーのような復活劇は無かったですね。

当時、私がまだ小学生だった頃。拓郎好きの兄の部屋からギターを弾いて歌う兄の声が聞こえてきた。「・・・何で渡哲也なんだ？」と不思議に思ったのを覚えている。数年後にこのアルバムを知って、謎が解決した。その後、私も拓郎にのめり込んだけど、「アジアの片隅で」くらいまでかなぁ。このアルバムで始まった拓郎ファンで最近の歌は聞かないけど、今も拓郎好きだよ。

拓郎は好きですが、このアルバムを聴いた限りでは、ハ-トに伝わるものを感じる事が出来なかった。熱いものを感じる事ができなかった。残念・・・。
