一時手放してしまったことがある本作・・・。今改めて聴いてみれば大変素晴しいアルバムだったことに気付いた。下手すれば自分的に一番好きな作品かもしれない・・・。
ジャケットの木根さんはどうしてあんな格好を余儀なくされたのかは・・・未だ謎だ！。

自分が当時高校生の時、他のアーティストに盛んに曲を提供し始めた小室哲哉に興味をもち、このアルバムに出逢い、ＴＭ ＮＥＴＷＯＲＫにはまりました。ダンサブルな曲がメインですが、程よくバラードが入ってます。個人的にオススメは♯5「You can Dance」♯8「GIAL」♯9「雨に誓って」です。今見てもジャケットはインパクトあるなぁ。(笑)

4.0 out of 5 stars 踊れるアルバム。完成度がグッと高くなった注目作品です（ﾏ＾▽＾）ﾝ, 2003/7/2
総評：このアルバムからFANKSという呼称が使われるようになりますが、今でもあえてFANKSを自称する方がいるくらい、当時からのTMファンにとっては思い入れの深いアルバムだと思います。ちなみにFANKSとは「FUNK+PUNK+FANS」からなる小室哲哉お得意の造語ですね。この作品はダンサンブルな内容になっているのですが、ようやく自分達のスタイルが確立出来たというか、コンセプトが明確なアルバムに仕上がっています。タイトルは『ゴリラ』のような力強く優しいイメージから名付けられたそうで、他には『ターザン』などのアイデアもあったらしいです。このアルバムタイトルだけが、唯一小室哲哉の命名ではないアルバムです。前二作のフルアルバムからの成長が窺えるアルバムだと思いますね。アルバムのジャケ写はかなり!ダサいです･･･。
