少し憂鬱気な朴訥とした歌い方,だけどそれも彼女の味のひとつになっているよう。作風にもそのヴォーカルにもハデハデしさはないが,不思議と存在感はあり,すべて自らの作詞・作曲作品は,自分の言葉とメロディを持っている。★

洋楽では、ここ数年、リサ・ローブやアラニス・モリセットなど新しい女性シンガー・ソングライターの流れが大きくなっている。そして、日本でも逸材が姿を現し始めている。松崎ナオもきっとそうした位置付けのできる存在だ。友人に手紙を書こうとしたがうまく想いを表現できず、その手紙の代わりに曲を書いたのが作曲活動のきっかけという。実際、ここに収められている曲も、まさに胸の内を綴るように、自然に、微妙なニュアンスを含みながらも、作曲理論などおかまいなしに大胆に展開していくかのよう。やや低めで、乾いた印象のある歌声。歌って聴かせるというよりも、まるで深夜にたった一人で想いのたけを記録したかのような、生々しくも、どこかひっそりとしたヴォーカル。アンビエント・テクノやローファイなロックのサウンドの要素をとり入れながらアコースティック感を出した音作りの中で、パーソナルで、せつなく、人恋しい、そんな歌のたたずまいが際立つ。 (渡辺淳) --- 1998年05月号

松崎さんのアルバムの中では一番暗い(いい意味で）イメージです。しかしユニコーンや岡村靖幸さんやニルヴァーナが好きという松崎さんは意外に明るいキャラクターですよ。音のほうはこのアルバムも他のアルバムもそうですが松崎さんの作る曲はメロディーに特徴がありますね。その中でもこのアルバムが私は一番好きです。この人はもっと評価されてもいいアーティストだと思います。知らない人はぜひ聞いてみて下さい。
