木根さんの２枚目のソロミニアルバムです。
内容は、

1.Not too late
2.もう戻らない
3.夜明けのスロー・ボート
4.時代を抱きしめて
5.レイニーブルースが聞こえる
6.君がいた夏

まず１は、木根さんの本によりますとTMでの楽曲に近いかな、とのことで、バックコーラスを同僚の二人（宇都宮隆、小室哲哉）に依頼したそうです。

すごく聴き応えのある曲でメロディーも複雑じゃないので思わず口ずさんでしまいそうになります。「明日の夢は君次第さ　遅すぎるとはまだ言わないで」私事になりますが、このフレーズにどれだけ助けられたか。すごく私自身のお気に入りの曲です。

２、３、４はTMでも他の人に提供した曲でもなく、これぞ木根さんって感じの曲です。

５は小説「月はピアノに誘われて」にでてきた「雨のブルース」って曲のことなのでしょうか？定かではありませんが。
一昔前の曲のようにきこえますがそこがまた木根さんですからね。

６はおなじみ「木根バラ」です。
しみじみと歌い上げています。

尚、このCDの曲と同タイトルのお話は木根さんの短編小説集「それでもいいと思ってた―13のラヴ・ショート・ストーリー 」で書かれています。すべてではないですけども。

２００３年の今聴いても木根さんのメロディーは聴きやすいなって改めて感じさせてくれるCDです。TMの中では一番地味な印象ですが、一番才能ある人だなって思いす。

このミニアルバム６曲中６曲ともいいです。たまに街で１００円とかで売ってますけど見るたびに腹が立ちます。すごい名作ですよ。
　
　まず１曲目＜ＮＯＴ　ＴＯＯ　ＲＡＴＥ＞ですがすごい前向きの曲です。３０代４０代の人が聞くと共感できるものがあると思います。曲名の意味はもう遅すぎることはないです。10代20代で夢から目をそむけて生きている人がいるなかで（君たちなんかまだまだこれからだよ）と木根さんがいっているような気がします。
　
　2曲目＜もう戻らない＞は失恋ソングですがあまり暗い印象は受けません。ここちいいメロディにのって歌詞も一緒に流れている感じです。僕は持ち歌にしています。
　
　3曲目は＜夜明けのスロー：ボート＞です。曲名どうり少し前向きな方向に行こう行こうとしている曲です。しかし曲調は＜もう戻らない＞と対局で少し暗めです。
　
　4曲目＜時代を抱きしめて＞は名曲です。（昨日より明日より...今）は思わず口ずさんでしまいます。（時代を抱きしめ夢を求めて迷うことなく）生きたいものです。
　
　5曲目＜レイニーブルースが聞こえる＞はブルース調のメロディでサビが流れます。（ああレイニーブルースが何処からか聞こえるー）は記憶に残ります。ああ、あの曲だと。
　
　ラストは＜君がいた夏＞です。ラブソングです。過去の恋愛を思い出して歌っている歌です。でも失恋ではなく淡い恋心を歌っています。
　
　どの曲もすぐ口ずさんでしまう覚えやすい曲ばかりです。このアルバムはＴＭや木根さんのことを知らないでもすんなり木根ソロワールドに浸れるでしょう。星５つです。買いの一枚！。

全体を通すと木根さんらしいアルバムだと思います。木根ワールドを満喫できますが、私的には他の木根さんのソロアルバムを聴いているので、まだまだと言った感じがします。しかし隠れた名曲も入ってましたので、木根ファンなら持っておきたいアルバムの内の一枚です！
