もともと女性ロッカーの代名詞だった美里にも、大人っぽい曲が似合うようになった。曲調は緩やかで、以前のような尖ったイメージはない。岡村靖幸：作のファンクチューンであっても、どこか余裕が漂っている。本当に音楽を楽しんでいる感じがあふれている。

ミスチルのプロデューサの小林武史のブラスやストリングスのアレンジも上品で豪華な感じを演出している。彼女と同年代のほうが心にぐっとくるかもしれない歌詞の内容にも注目！

良質のAORとしてお勧めしたい。

前作「ＨＥＬＬＯ　ＬＯＶＥＲＳ」で過去の名曲を新しいアレンジで歌い直して発表した美里。一区切りがついたのか？名曲を一緒に作ってきた小室哲哉、大江千里など参加していない。当時サザンの音楽に参加し、後にミスチルの音楽で更なるブレイクをする小林武史が起用されてる。
音楽もまったく新しい美里になった。そもそもいつもの紙ボックス使用のジャケットにしなかったのも転換期を狙っていたと思う。ポップな作品は「Ｌｕｃｋｙ」で最高潮に達したと思う。超ポップしてたシングル「メリーゴーランド」がこのアルバムに収録されなかったのも納得する。始めはこの転換期はとまどいました。小室っぽいのもやっぱり美里にほしいな…とも思いました。でも聴く回数が増えるごとに好きになっていきました。やっぱり美里だったのです。「ブランニュー　ヘブン」のかっこよさ！！今だにしびれます。名曲多し！！！！！それにしても美里は後にブレイクする人間を起用するのはうまいですね。先読みの天才です。
「はじめて」これにはかなり特別な思いがあります。大村雅明さん…８０年代は松田聖子のほとんどの作品のサウンドを手掛け、美里やたくさんのアーティスト…Ｊ−ＰＯＰを作った大物がこの後すぐに逝かれてしまいます。「はじめて」は本当に逝かれてしまう前の最高傑作だと思います。美里には美里の魅力を引き出す作品、聖子の昔の音楽その他も素晴らしい作品でした。心から「ありがとう」を言いたいです。

渡辺美里がデビューしたころ14〜15歳だった人は
この作品が発売された頃就職活動中だった人も多いのでは？
「若きモンスターの逆襲」や「さえない20代」は当時心にしみました。
とくに「さえない20代」は鬼才・岡村靖幸が美里に提供した曲の中でも
ずば抜けていると思っております。
今でもこの2曲は大好きですが、他の曲も佳曲がそろっておりおススメです。
