　佐野元春のデビューアルバムである今作は，名盤中の名盤「サムディ」や衝撃作「ヴィジターズ」に比べて余り評論集とかに取り上げられる機会の少ない作品であるが，それらと内容を比較しても勝るとも劣らない素晴らしい作品である。
　佐野元春の伝説の最初の一歩として，疾走感たっぷりのボーカルスタイル，散文詩的だが確実に都市を感じさせるリズム感溢れる詩，そして曲の良さも相まって，非常に魅力的なナンバーが揃っている。デビューシングルの「アンジェリーナ」，佐野のつんのめるようなボーカルが印象的なＲ＆Ｒ「夜のスウィンガー」，アバンギャルドな「プリーズ・ドント・テル・ミー・ア・ライ」，苦いバラード「バッド・ガール」，ジャージーな「ドゥ・ワット・ユー・ライク」，そして隠れた名曲「情けない週末」と色々なタイプのナンバーが楽しめる。
　完成度では次作以降のアルバムに一歩譲るが，佐野元春の偉大な才能が堪能できる今作（疾走感は一番）は，リマスターにより音も良く，懐かしさもあり，ヘヴィーローテーションとなってる。

「グッドタイムス & バッドタイムス 」をはじめに聴いたとき、ギルバートオサリバンを思い出しました。 「アンジェリーナ」は、ブルーススプリングスティーンかな、とにかく強烈な印象だったなあ。今でもカラオケで歌ってしまう。そして、「バッド・ガール」の詩を聴いていると、ほんとにどうしたらいんだろ、という感じ…。「情けない週末」の詩も曲も味わい深く、若き日の思い出のアルバムです。

~One! two! one,two,three!! この瞬間、目の前に広がるのは、見た事のない街。そうそれが佐野元春の街。クレイジープリティーフラミンゴにミッドナイトカンガルー。街のブルーバードに小さなカサノバと街のナイチンゲールが居る街。Lonely Little Bitchにサンチャイルド。Happy ManにDowntownBoyも居る。そして、寂しげなAngel~~ アンジェリーナ。この街をどう歩こうと、どこの店に入ろうと、それは君の自由！興味があったらいつでも佐野元春の街に行ってみよう。~
