日本人の発声方法としては、かなりめずらしい部類に入り、
（同じ発声方法では、有名どころでは高橋真梨子がそれにあたるが）
歌い方も、非常に特徴的な部分もある、
鈴木聖美の91年の発売ベストである。
三浦百恵名義作詞のデビュー曲「シンデレラ・リバティ」や、
デュエット曲としては、ロングヒットを放った「ロンリー・チャップリン」
そして「TAXI」「夜明けのスターライト」も収録されているが、
なぜか「もしかして,アイ・ラヴ・ユー」だけは、
音をひとつ下げたものを収録している。
内容はすごくいい・・・っていうか、歌がウマい。
最初にも言ったが、発声が独特で、
わりと日本人に少ない形なので、
比較級になる人がすぐに見当たらない感じで、
ほんとにウマいのかどうかというのは、
いささか疑問視する声も上がりそうだが、
音程的なことをあげれば、確かに音は取れているし、
揺れるようなリズムと、音のきっちりした表現の使い分けが、
自然体でちゃんとできる歌い方をしている。
そういう面では非常に、体の持っている音のバランスが、
とても恵まれている形の人だと思われる。
ただひとつだけ言えば、この手の発声の人は、
どうしても歌う歌を選ばないと、うまさが引き立たない部分がある。
もちろん、基本的に上手なので、何を聴いてもサマになるが、
やはり「商売」として、歌をやっていく以上は、
耳に残る歌と、心に残る歌と、本人が決め手を創りやすい歌の、
3つのバランスが大切だと思う。
でも、ほんとは、こういう大人の歌が、
また流行る時代が来ればいいなぁ~と思いつつ、
最近、またよく聴くようになった1枚である。
すごくオススメである。
