長くスカパラファンを続けていますが、この作品が一番好き。
彼らの『東京スカ魂』が一番感じ取れる一枚だと思う。
いい意味で、現在のスカパラの『臭い』が感じられない。
個人的には、１~３トラックでテンションが疼き始め、４~７トラックで一気に上昇、８~１０トラックで燃え、以降そのリズムとグルーヴに酔いしれる、という楽しみ方をしている。
最近のスカパラしか知らない人には、ぜひこのアルバムから聴いていただきたいと思う。

初期の東京スカパラダイスオーケストラの特徴は、呑気な雰囲気が伝わってくること。最近の曲は、ドラマ『美女か野獣』の主題歌のようなJAZZの要素が多少入った曲もあれば結成当初から変わることのないスカリズムも存在する。しかし、本作がリリースされた頃はまだスカリズムが強調されておりあまりインテリ感はなかったように思える。個人的には『セサミ・ストリート』『ジャングル・ブギ』『ホールインワン』がお気に入りであるが、中でも『ホールインワン』が大のお気に入りである。故・クリーンヘッド・ギムラ氏の「ホールインワン♪」という掛け声が忘れられない。

このアルバム、個人的な評価では、スカパラの歴史の中でも「最低」ランクに位置する。なぜかって、あまりにも「実験的過ぎる」「素直にのれないナンバーが多い」からだ。スカパラの勢い、ノリをもとめる初心者の方は、ほかのアルバムから入ることをお勧めする。

しかしながら、三曲あるギムラボーカルのナンバーはいずれも素晴らしい出来だ。とくに笠木シズ子のカヴァー「ジャングルブギ」はギムラの怪しさ全開で、名曲の誉れ高い。まだギムラの歌を聴いたことのない人は、ぜひこの曲で「ショック」を受けてほしい。（初心者向けじゃないって言っておきながらなあ……）
