「The Final Coutdown」のジャパン・ツアー後、EUROPEを脱退したJohn Norumが1987年に発表した1stソロ・アルバム。
元MADISONのGoran Edman(Vo.)と元Rising ForceのMarcel Jacob(B.)という北欧HR/HMシーンを代表する2人を迎え入れ、Gary Mooreからの影響が顕著なブルージーで扇情的なプレイを前面に押し出したギター・オリエンテッドな内容になっています。
叙情的なギター・ソロが印象的な1stシングルの「LET ME LOVE YOU」、名曲「Final Countdown」のオリジナル・バージョン「LOVE IS MEANT TO LAST FOREVER」、THIN LIZZYのカバー曲「WILD ONE」等を収録しています。
まさにギタリストJohn Norumがやりたいことをやったという感じで、1stソロ・アルバムとして、まずまずの出来です。作曲家としても才能があるところを見せています。

EUROPEを脱退したジョン・ノーラム1987年のソロ。歌も歌っている、なかなか上手い。ただし2,5,6は北欧の便利屋ヨラン・エドマン。Gは全編師匠ゲイリー・ムーア譲りのブルージー、時々マシンガンにシェンカー風味を加えて味は保証付き。曲もEUROPEより良いくらいだ。カッコ良いHRが満載。2がなんとなくEUROPE風なのはご愛嬌か。6のビデオクリップ（ジョン愛用のギターが盗まれて、それを取り戻すまでのストーリー）が好きでした。7はちょっと恥ずかしいZEPクローン風というかWHITESNAKEか？。11はTHIN LIZZYのカヴァー、フィル・ライノットそっくりに歌ってます。いやーいいなぁ。2,5,6,9,10が好き。

大ヒットアルバム｢THE FINAL COUNTDOWN｣に参加しながら、アルバム発表直後にEUROPEを脱退したジョン・ノーラム(G)。
このアルバムはその後'87年にリリースされた1stソロ・アルバムだ。

初期EUROPEを思わせる北欧的なHRとノーラムが強く影響されたTHIN LIZZY的なHRの二本柱からなる作品で、
そのいずれもが高品質なのがポイント。

特に前者は多くのファンが彼に望んでいるものだろう。

この中では"Eternal Flame"が透明感と叙情性を兼ね備えた美しいメロディが感動を呼ぶ名曲。
北欧のHRを好んで聴くファンだったら絶対に触れておかなければいけないナンバーだ。

ノーラムのギター・プレイが優れたVoソングの中で堪能できる好盤。
