まだまだモーニング娘。黎明期（？）と言える時期に出されたアルバムで、歌唱力の拙さが目立つが、収録曲からはいろいろなことが想像でき、聴いていて楽しい。
つんくは当初、モーニング娘。をハーモニーを重視したグループに育てたかったのかもしれないと思える「モーニングコーヒー」と「夢の中」。やはりもっとアップテンポで、大人っぽい路線に変更しようと思った「サマーナイトタウン」。コンサートのオープニング曲を意識したと思われる「Good Morning」。ASAYAN以外では聴くのが不可能かと思っていたファーストシングル候補曲の「どうにかして土曜日」と「ウソつきあんた」など。
中澤がフィーチャーされた「ウソつきあんた」は、彼女がソロで歌ったものを含めても、声質が他のメンバーと異質の彼女にもっともマッチした曲だと思う。また、個人的に「シャ乱Ｑロックヴォーカリストオーディション」の優勝者に相応しいと思っているのは石黒なのだが、タンポポの曲を含めて、その一番ロックを感じさせてくれる彼女が生かされているのは「ワガママ」だと思う。

そんなことも含めて、いまだに十分楽しむことの出来るアルバムである。

このアルバムでしか聞けない曲、その中でもっとも好きなのが『夢の中』である。記念すべきファースアルバムの５曲目に収録されている。プロデューサーつんくが本来目指したかったのも、当初はこのハーモニー路線ではなかっただろうか。

「雨の日曜日にあこがれの人と歩く...」ただそれだけの情景を、夢の中というイマジネーションをもとに、ハーモニー・コーラスを幾重にも重ねながらメロディーを展開した美しく切ない曲である。　

この曲はぜひナマで聞いてみたいというファンが多いのも納得できる。
メンバーが変遷してもいつの日か美しいハーモニーを聞いてみたいものである。

あるインタビューでつんくが、彼女たちの声帯のレントゲンをチェックしながら
パート割や作品制作を行うなどと言う,まことしやかなコトを言っていたが
このアルバムを聴くとあながち嘘でもないかなー、と、思えます。
なかでも飯田圭織メインの「夢の中」はそれを一層感じさせてくれる名作です。
べたと言えばベッタベタなコーラスワークだが、まだまだ発展途上だった
彼女らがせいいっっぱい歌っている姿が目に浮かんでグッと来ます。。
飯田さんが卒業ライブでラストに歌った。と言うエピソードも絡めて聴くと
なかなかキュンと来ます！
そのほか,処女性と淑女性をミックスした初期の代表作「サマーナイトタウン」や
アイドルっぽさ全開のプレデビュー曲「愛の種」など、これでしか聴けないような
ナンバーがいっぱいです。。今後どんどん新規のファンが生まれていっても
このアルバムだけは聴いてみてもらいたいそんな作品です。
