今や、森高千里さんの姿はＣＭ以外では見ることは無くなりましたが、このアルバムが出ていた当時は、飛ぶ鳥も落とす勢いで、次々と大ヒットを飛ばしていたものです。このアルバムは彼女のベスト盤なのですが、今振り返ってみると、本当に良い曲を歌っていたものですね。
また、見過されがちですが彼女の作詞にも素晴らしいセンスを感じます。いずれの曲においても決して気取らず、わかりやすい言葉で綴られていることが却って専門の作詞家にはない素直な印象で、非常に好感が持てます。
数ある森高さんの曲目で、私のベスト３を挙げれば、「私の夏」「私がオバさんになっても」「渡良瀬橋」といったところでしょうか。とりわけ「私の夏」は９３年当時、全日空のＣＭで盛んに流されていたものですが、スピード感溢れるメロディに乗せて、ユーモアのある彼女の歌詞が微笑ましい曲です。９３年のベストソングと言って過言ではありません。沖縄をイメージした曲としても傑作の一つでしょう（この曲のＰＶがオーストラリアで撮影されていたとかで物議をかもしていましたよね）。
「私がオバさんになっても」は言うまでもない大ヒット曲、このバージョンでは特にイントロのモチーフが何度も繰り返されているのですが、シングルバージョンよりも私はこちらの方が良いと思います。
とにかく名曲揃いですよ、このアルバム。

　９５年発売のベスト盤。ヒット曲満載、お薦めです。
　
１．都道府県庁所在地を延々と歌い上げる。バックコーラスでその地の名産品が...。小学生の勉強素材としても役立つが、最近市町村合併で多少変化が生じてしまった。カラオケでオジさんでも歌える。今年４月にミニモニがこの曲をリリースしたようです。（まだ、聴いてませんけど）

３．ドラマ主題歌、誰でも一度は聴いたことのある曲でしょう。このＣＤの中で一番調子のいい楽しい曲かな。

４．足利市中心部にかかるの３本の橋のうち一番上流側の橋の名前をとった曲。曲と直接関係ないですけど、足利って｢小鎌倉｣と言われるだけあって、素敵な街です。

５．某航空会社のキャンペーンソング。

９．ポンキッキーズの挿入歌。

１０．１２．ビール会社のＣＦソング。

特にお薦めの曲は以上７曲ですが、他にもテレビ番組のエンディングやキャンペーンソングに使われた曲が収録されています。

婚約後、めっきり活動を控えてしまい当時の勢いが強烈（色々な意味で）だっただけに、お祭り事のような出来事として今感じる。デビューは８７年にまで遡る。しかし、ブレイクしたのは８９年の「ストレス」からなので、実際森高＝９０年代前半というイメージがある。そして本盤も選曲はその時期がメインだ。

森高は、所謂「バンド」「ビーイング」「小室」と３ブームの間をぬって活動した訳だが、そのいずれにおいてもセールスを残していた。それでいて、上記ブームにはなんら影響されることの無い独自性も持ち合せていた。それはサウンドのみならず、キャラクターまでも。やはり印象的なのが「ストレス」の写真だ。極端なミニスカートとハイヒール、原色重視の衣装と巨大リボン。。しかし、既存のアイドルと一括りにできなかった。なぜだろうか？実際あの時から作詞を自身で手がけていたのも無関係ではないだろう。そして、外見だけでなく歌詞においても随分独自な世界を繰り広げていた気がする。
延々と県庁所在地を紹介する♯１は、その好例だ。ライブでは良く引き合いに出されていた曲でもある。♯６も煩わしい男をハエに例えて軽快なリズムに乗せて歌うなんて発想自体、異色だった。しかし、そのような疎ましい題材を歌っても、朗々とこなしてしまったのは流石だった。

しかし、そのような滑稽ソング以外にも感傷的にさせるような名曲も残した訳で、例えば♯４がそうである。北関東の固有名詞を引き合いに出しつつ、当時番組で縦笛を吹くという意表を突いた技で見事に郷愁感を与えられた。♯２もまた彼女の代名詞的曲で、担当ラジオのエンディングテーマだった。クリアーな楽器の上で見事に雨の情景を現していた。

その他♯５や８等、旅情感を湧き起こす爽快な曲が多いのもまた魅力であり、当時飛行機の広告塔として使われたのも今となっては納得できたりする。
