1984年3月21日、ロンバケ発表から3年後に発表された、大滝詠一の現時点での最新アルバム。 ロンバケやトライアングル２に比べて地味な曲が並んでいるが、聴けば聴くほど味が出て来るアルバムと言えよう。大滝詠一の作品群の中でも、高い評価を受けるべき作品。「ペパーミント・ブルー」を始めに壮大な音世界が繰り広げられている。 大滝ファンにとっては、マスト・アイテム。このアルバムに、同時期録音の2曲を加えた完全版もリリースされた。(現在入手困難状態。)

5.0 out of 5 stars ナイアガラの滝に浮遊するマイナスイオン, 2004/3/15
数あるナイアガラの中で一番のお気に入りです。まずサウンドを聞いてみて下さい。カーステレオでなくホームオーディオで。音の美しさに驚き、心地よりメロディーが聞こえ、遠く彼方からハーモニーが聞こえてきます。この３つが重なった時、至高の喜びを感じるはずです。ロンバケ後のアルバムですが、これほど大滝氏のナイーブなエッセンスを聞けるアルバムはありません。聞けば聞くほど味が出る作品群がそろっています。２００４年３月２１日にリマスターとなって再発しますので、今は購入せず、待ちましょう。ナイアガラの滝に浮遊するマイナスイオンを浴びて下さい。体にも良いですよ！！

良質な音楽ですね。どの曲を聴いても、詩と曲がピッタリ
合っている。そして、押し付けがましくない。勢いのある曲
も含まれるが、かっさらわれるような不安定感は感じられない。
商品としての音楽、といった味も、感じられない。

大滝さんの作品には結構笑える曲もありますが、
このアルバムでは、そのオチャラケ度はかなり薄くて、

真面目勝負。真の”音の魔術師”の本領発揮、と言っても
過言ではないでしょう。

この一枚を聴いた後の快感は、そう出会えるものではありません。
全曲素晴らしいので、一生楽しんでゆける！と
お勧めしたいです。
