　故村下孝蔵氏の代表曲、「初恋」を先頭にしたファン必携のアルバム。これほどまでに切ない男心を写実的に描写した曲が他にあるでしょうか！？。
　但し、ここで先頭を切っている「初恋」はアルバムバージョンで、ＥＰとは少しイントロが異なります。男の繊細さ、意外な弱さを全面的に押し出して、男の真実をここまで哀愁深く、そして堂々と歌い上げた氏の他界は、未だに惜しまれてやみません。
　☆五つとしたいところなのですが、エンファシス録音されていることを考慮し、☆四つとしました。

誰もが言う通り、この人の曲のイメージは「哀愁」という言葉で表される。このアルバムも、やはり哀愁、哀愁の嵐。そしてそれは決して押しつけがましくないたぐいのもの。
すんなりと耳に入ってくるメロディー、写実的な歌詞。そして美しすぎる声。それら全てが、まるでパズルのピースのようにぴったりと一曲の為にあるように思わされる。
「初恋」「踊り子」といった代表曲の他にも、４などはあまりにもそのメロディーと詞がタイトルにマッチしていて、まさに物語になっている。また、９「私一人」のような、昭和に生きた人ならではの、脆くも強い女歌の詞。
平成の今、彼にこそ、もっと曲を作って歌ってもらいたかった。急逝は悔やんでも悔やみきれない。

1980年代初めに「初恋」「陽だまり」などのヒット曲を出した村下孝蔵だが、その甘くせつない曲を思い出にようにして歌っている彼の歌声をもう聴く事が出来ないのは実に惜しい。
この曲はその村下孝蔵のそんな全てが凝縮されていると言っても過言では無いだろう。部屋の中でそんなドラマティックなシーンを思い浮かべても良い。
