代表曲『雪』は他でも聴けるでしょうが、アコースティックバージョンは今となっては、これでしか聴けないのでは!?私的には拓郎バージョンよりもシングルバージョンよりもアコースティックバージョンの方がグッときて好きです。もちろん、この曲もこの曲も…などと、ベスト盤には不可欠な名曲はしっかりと網羅されてるので、ファンにはたまらない一枚になると思います。

　うろ覚えの印象だけれども、「猫」というグループの登場のときは、もう少しロックテイストの強いバンドだったように思う。
　ただ、拓郎から提供された「地下鉄に乗って」で「フォーク」職が明確になった（でもこの曲で、当時としては珍しかったシンセサイザーを使ってるんだよね）。ついで拓郎の「雪」をヒットさせ、拓郎の曲の実験グループのようになった感じがした。
　でも、「各駅停車」のように、オリジナルにも名曲が多く、大変いいバンドであった。
　これも記憶がないのだけれど、明確に解散したとか、何かがあったということなくいつの間にか消えてしまった不思議なバンドであった。

　今となっては、このＢＥＳＴ盤くらいしか聴けないけれど、もっともっと復刻してほしいと思う。

｢雪｣「地下鉄に乗って｣など吉田拓郎に楽曲を提供してもらってヒットした曲もいいけど、オリジナル曲｢各駅停車｣で猫のファンになった人も多いのではないでしょうか。

猫(しつこいですが、フォークグループの猫ですよ)のファンはもちろん、猫ってなぁーに？という人にも聴いてほしいアルバムです。
