浜田省吾の音楽シーンへの記念すべきデビュー作。
広島出身の音楽好きの若者たち「愛奴」が、初めて世に自分たちの音楽を問うた作品。
ビートルズやビーチボーイズの影響を受けたPOPな曲、ブルース、そしてロック。
様々なスタイルの曲が詰め込まれているが、そこに共通するのはとにかく音楽が好き！という
瑞々しくて純粋な情熱である。荒削りにも感じるが、それもまたひとつの魅力として捉えられる。
ちなみに、浜田はドラムの演奏がメインであり、数曲しかボーカルを担当していない。
だが、ほとんどの曲の作詞と「二人の夏」を含む数曲の作曲を担っていて、後にシンガーソングライターとして花ひらく才能の一端をみせている。
浜田省吾ファンならぜひとも触れてみて欲しい一枚だ。

広島フォーク村から吉田拓郎のバック・バンド
であった「愛奴」がリリースした一枚。
「二人の夏」が浜田の作品の中で特に印象深い。

’95年に山下達郎がシングル「世界の果てまで」
のカップリングとしてカヴァーした事実はあまり
知られていないかも知れないかも知れない。

「ビーチ・ボーイズ」と
「シュガー・ベイブ」と
「愛奴」

・・・これがキーワードだ。

日本のミュージックシーンのフォーク隆盛期からニューミュージック黎明期の過渡期に広島の地方から現れたスーパーバンド、愛奴＝AIDOのファーストアルバム、時代を経ても色褪せない名盤である
