   岩井俊二監督が手掛けたテレビドラマで、後に劇場公開もされた秀作『if もしも／打ち上げ花火、下か見るか？　横から見るか？』。その後6年の歳月を経て、岩井監督自身が企画、監督した、当時を振り返るドキュメンタリーだ。
   当時の出演者でもある奥菜恵と山崎裕太がナビゲーターとなり、ロケ地の千葉県飯岡市を訪れながら、『打ち上げ花火~』の撮影現場秘話などを紹介。また、ぼやきのようにもとれる（？）プロデューサーの証言や、スタッフのインタビュー、監督やキャストのコメント、さらには岩井監督による幻のショートストーリーなど充実の内容だ。ファンを喜ばせるとともに、90分の枠をフルに使いきったノスタルジックな1本の作品としても、見事に成立するものになっている。（的田也寸志）

最初は正直、見ていてダレてきて失敗か！？、と思ったのですが段々面白くなってきます。
メイキングシーンでは同じカットを何通りも撮っていたり、監督の作品の作り方が少しですが分かったりするので面白いです。

奥菜恵ちゃんも、本編で演ずる”なずな”はマイペースでどちらかと言うとワガママな役なのですが、撮影中は真剣な顔を見せ、当たり前ですが”なずな”の役になり切り役作りの大切さを知る事が出来ます。

ただ、映像を見ていて画質が荒いなと思ったのですが、ビットレートが低いせいでした。このＤＶＤは１層式なので、２層式にしてもう少し画質を上げて欲しかったです。

Review:本編のメイキングビデオ風にしながらも､当時のスタッフや関係者のインタビュー、本編シナリオの基になったショートストーリが入ってる。これを見ていると､本当にちょっとした偶然がいろいろ積み重なって､たまたま本編のようなすばらしい作品になったのだということに改めて驚かされる。この中で最後に監督自身が振り返ってるように､もしその偶然が一つでも起きなかったならば、本当にどんな作品になっていたのか考えるだけで恐ろしいことだと思う。本編の完成度を考えると、ますますそう思うのではないだろうか。そしてそのことからも、本編事態がまさしくif(もしも･･･)シリーズだったんだな、という事がよくわかる。

本作は最近流行りの、内容の薄いいわゆる「ナビゲートＤＶＤ」なるシロモノとは一線を画したものだ。進行役の奥菜恵も山崎裕太も、本編撮影時からは６年を経ており、すっかりオトナになっている。でも、２００８年に観ると、やたら若い。そういう観点から観ても面白いメイキングとなっている。色々あってもまだ第一線にいる奥菜に比べて、いまや同僚の妻夫木聡にすっかり水をあけられてしまった山崎もこのころはまだ輝いていた。ふたりのやりとりは６年後のほうが安心して見ていられるが、ラストシーンのメイキングは撮影当時のもののほうがズシンと響く。何テイクにも及ぶ撮り直しを通じて、魔法のようなラストが生まれた。このラストがなかったら、のちの岩井伝説はなかったかもしれない。本編を観ているひとには絶対にお勧めの一本である。
