フランス映画、１９５９年ゴダールの「勝手にしやがれ」のリメイク作品。
現在、それでもすでに少し前の映画になっていますが
さらっとした原作よりも魅力を感じた１本でした。
とにかくアメリカ的で情熱的な内容。激しい恋愛映画で泣きたい時などに。
破滅的だけど心に残る映画です。
リチャードギアの魅力がこうした役柄でも当時の若さと

当てはまり役の適役となっています。

私にはゴダールの「勝手にしやがれ」よりこっちのほうがよっぽど衝撃的でした。なんてったって恐れ多くもあの映画がアホにパワーアップしてリサイクル。好きだからリメイクして何が悪いってな感じもGOOD!ベルモントはまだインテリ感漂う役柄でしたが本作ではそれもあっさり削除。リチャード・ギア最高のハマリ役ではないでしょうか？

ギア扮する主人公ジェシーはど派手な音でいつもジェリー・リー・ルイスを大声で歌いながら、アホとしかいえない愛すべき服装でフランス女性モニカを口説く、口説く、の好きになったら一直線男。おまけに身の破滅まで一直線。

ラスト、愛するモニカにも裏切られ警察官に囲まれたジェシーはいきなりジェリー・リー・ルイスの歌に合わせて踊りながら地面に落ちた拳銃を取ろうとして幕。
ありきたり？ゴダールにはかなわない？
だけどもこのお馬鹿さんなギアがどの主演映画よりカッコイイ。
これがまさしく日陰のB級メロドラマの決定版です。

　それまでスタイリッシュだった彼が、どうしてこんなに変わっちゃったんだろう・・・うーん、こっちが本当の姿なのかな？
　主人公のお二人が青春真っ盛りのご様子で、見ているとちょっと照れちゃう感じもアリですが、若さにあふれた体形をご披露してくれるし（笑）、「きれいでいいなー」とつい思ってしまいました。

　いわゆるゴダールの“勝手にしやがれ”のリメークですが、それに現代美術調の映像も取り込んだ、アバンギャルドなアメリカン映画でもあります。アート系の人にお勧めします。
