キリヤマ隊長は不世出の名隊長である。確かな判断、上官や部下からの信頼、部下への愛情、そして若さ(38才という設定)。
この人のドラマを堪能したくてDVDを買った。言うまでもなく23話「明日を捜せ」である。
珍しく感情的になるキリヤマ。上官の叱責や部下の嘲笑にもめげず、明日を捜そうとする。理解を示したのは、独りダンだけであった。
結局自分の判断が正しかったとしても、それが何になると言うのか。あの時妥協したばっかりに、救けを求めてきた男を守ってやれなかったじゃないか、と悔いるストイックさ。その後ろ姿に、みんなはウルトラ警備隊員の生き様を学ぶのだろうか。
しかしこのDVDはそれだけではない。24話「北へ還れ！」では、フルハシ、その母、そしてキリヤマのドラマがある。
フルハシの母がテレビの相撲中継に心満たされているとき、愛する息子は絶体絶命のピンチに陥っていた。キリヤマはせめてものはなむけに、規則を犯してまで親子の一時を持たせてやろうとする。これが母との最後の会話になることを覚悟するフルハシは、笑いながら涙を流す。無線機の向こうで母は無邪気に笑っているというのに…。見ていてこちらも涙がこぼれる。
考えてみればウルトラ警備隊員は、みんな不世出である。寒さに意識を失う仲間を、母親のような強さで呼び戻そうとするアンヌも。そしてソガもアマギも。
ぜひ持っていたい1枚。

なんといっても「北へ還れ」です
フルハシが乗ったウルトラホーク３号と旅客機が衝突コースに入ります
キリヤマはフルハシに自爆するよう命じました
冷たい方程式です
旅客機の乗客を救うためにフルハシを犠牲にするという極限の選択です
一点の曇りもないすぐれた脚本です
