アイルランドのメロディーは私の耳にいつもとても心地よい。牧歌的な景色にも感性ゆさぶられる。アイリッシュウィスキーは確かに１０万ドル分も飲み干したくなる絶品よね~とうなずきつつ、爽やかな潮風に、土の匂いと一滴のスパイスを加えたようなその独特の香気に似た、良質のコメディーをゆったりと味わいました。禍福を隣人と分かち合うという素朴なヒューマニズムが、押しつけがましくなく穏やかにしみいります。お茶目で愉快な村人達を、神様がこっそり苦笑いしながら見守っている、そんな視線さえ感じられるようでした。

裸でバイクを乗りまわしたり、秘密をばらそうとしたお婆ちゃんを轢き殺したりブラックユーモアいっぱいやけど、なんかほのぼのしていて観てて癒される不思議な映画です。アイリッシュな雰囲気も良かった！イギリスやアメリカでロングラン・ヒットしたのもうなづけます。しかしネッドは本当に村人にこのお金を使ってもらうのが幸せだったのか？って思う･･･。

この映画の主役のイアン・バネンはもうこの世にいません。ご冥福をお祈りします。

つい最近Movie Plusで観たのですが、
当時に劇場で鑑賞しておかなかったことを、これ程後悔した作品も最近では稀です。
内容については先輩レビュアー諸氏の書いておられるとおりで、
宝くじを巡るブラックジョークですが・・

最後の展開は思いもつきませんでした。
優れた脚本、監督、俳優達が揃ったのは偶然の産物でしょうか。
映画の神様に祝福された、20世紀の最後を飾るに相応しい傑作です。
心からお勧めします。
