全米チャート１位になったC.W.マッコールの主題歌が忘れられません（なんでサントラCDが出ないんだぁ！？）クリス・クリストファーソン、アリ・マックグロウ、アーネスト・ボーグナイン、バート・ヤングら、個性的なキャラクターたちがサム・ペキンバーの演出でいい味に仕上がっている。いかにもアメリカらしくて私は好きです！公開当時のTVコマーシャルも格好良かった。

この映画を観終わった後のなんともいえない爽快感がたまりません｡主題歌を含めた音楽が見事にはまっています｡
男と男の意地や確執といったものが、抜き差しならぬ殺戮という事態にまで発展していくペキンパー作品の中では、珍しく誰も死んでいないことにも注目！

~昔は日本にもドライヴ・インとかいう喫茶・軽食の店があったが、現在ではファミレスに変わっている。そんなノリで考えると、現在は携帯が普通だけど、トラック運転手達は今でもCB無線などで会話をしてるんだろうか？この映画のBGMで鼓笛隊のマーチングsoloにのせてCB無線調のセリフ（現在のラップとでもいうべきか）がやたらカッコいい。幼い頃ミニカーを集めてい~~たが、この映画を観てからミニカーの中でもトレーラーに目がいくようになった。BGMがカントリー調のアレンジで愉快な気持ちにさせてくれる。~
