   世紀末の99年正月に公開され、その年最大のメガヒットを記録した。ブルース・ウィリスをはじめとして、ベン・アフレック、マイケル・クラーク・ダンカン、オーウェン・ウィルソンらのスターたちが出演している。監督は『ザ・ロック』で手腕を認められたマイケル・ベイ。製作は、派手なアクションならおまかせのジェリー・ブラッカイマー。ヒロイン役に娘リヴ・タイラーが起用され、その父親スティーブン・タイラーが音楽を担当している。（アルジオン北村）

5.1ｃｈサラウンドシステムで本作品を観ました。小惑星の衝突のシーンの立体的な音響はストーリーとともに3次元の迫力がありました。一般的に地球の危機的状況を救う為、政治家は常識ある者を採用し、常識に従い行動する者を選定しますが、本作品においてアウトローな実践家が命がけで地球の危機を救ってくれました。命をかける行動に感動しました。何回観てもいい作品ですね。映画は面白いですね。

愛、勇気、男気、すべてが混ざったアクション超大作。パールハーバーでも話題の、マイケルベイ監督、ジェリーブラッカイマー製作のコンビが放つ、全編がクライマックスのようなド迫力の映像に魅了された。そんな中にも人間愛がどっさりと盛り込まれていてとても感動した。これは永久保存版にしたい。
