   観る者に単なる恐怖映画以上の衝撃を与えた『女優霊』以来、得体の知れぬ怪奇を描かせたら天下無敵の、中田秀夫監督と高橋洋の脚本。このコンビによる大ヒットホラーの続編である。
   今回は、前作の最後で命を絶たれた高山竜司の恋人、高野舞（中谷美紀）を中心に据え、出口の見えない新たな悪夢のストーリーがつづられていく。
   映像の仕掛けや見せ場が一気に増えたが、その分物語的には焦点が拡散してしまったきらいもある。しかし、生理レベルでのいや~な気持ちをあおり立てる描写や、ナマの神経にじかに触れてくるような音響など、恐怖心を増幅するセンスはやはり圧巻の一言だ。光学処理を施されたモノクロのシーンに、どこか懐かしく甘美な空気が漂っているのも、「これ以上見たくない、けれど見ていたい」と矛盾する視覚の欲望を強烈に刺激している。（武内 誠）

やっぱり現在の日本の恐怖映画といえば中田秀夫監督ですね。全編にイヤ~な感じが漂っていて、鳥肌がたつんだけど、ヤバいくらいに引き込まれます。欲を言えば、中田監督のシンプルな怖さを堪能するには、リングなどの一連の鈴木光司シリーズが、あまりにも多く映画やＴＶになり過ぎたせいか、若干物足りないような気もします。

１と比較すると怖くないかもしれないけど、あのS子が鏡に向かっているシーンなんか、
気持ち悪くて鳥肌が立ちます。「バースディ」や「らせん」が面白くなかったので、
そんなに期待はしていませんでしたが、正直、怖かったです。これは、いい。圧巻。

　『リング2』は、『リング』と比べてしまうと出来があまりよくありませんが、それでもあの傑作ホラー『リング』の続編にしてはよくできてるほうだと思います（少なくとも、『らせん』『バースデイ』に比べたら）。
　今度は科学であの貞子に挑むという、斬新なアイディアが特によかったと思います。
　このまま『リング3』を作って、ちゃんとつながった続編にしたら、それはそれで面白いんじゃないんでしょうか？
　最近は、アメリカでも流行っていますが、それよりやはり日本にしか作れないホラーをどんどん生み出して欲しいです。
　とにかく、『リング』があまりにいいので、続編はとんでもないだろう、と思う人は一度見てみてください。意見が変わるかもしれません。
